World of Warships Turkish Commander and Turkish Voice-Over Project
We have made a great cooperation with Wargaming’s unique game World of Warships, which brings together naval and warship enthusiasts around the world. We have rolled up our sleeves for the Turkish ship “Muavenet” and the first Turkish commander to join the World of Warships inventory.
TCG Muavenet, which has an important place in Turkish history, is actually an Allen M. Sumner class destroyer transferred from the US Navy. Although there are 4 ships bearing the name “Muavenet” in the Turkish Navy, the last 3 ships were named in honour of the first original ship. This first ship, known as Muavenet-i Milliye, means “national assistance” in Ottoman Turkish. It is a torpedo boat that served in the Ottoman Navy between 1910-1923. It is famous for sinking the Royal Navy’s front dreadnought HMS Goliath on the night between 12 May 1915 and 13 May during the Battle of Çanakkale.
What did we do in our World of Warships Turkish Commander and Turkish Voice Over Project?
This important moment in Turkish history and the Muavenet ship, which joined the game by taking the ship as an example, was a very important moment for the Turkish game world. In addition, a Turkish commander had to be designed to join the game with the ship. After much research with World of Warships and many evaluations with the contributions of the Turkish player community, it was decided that the most suitable name for this job was Murat Serezli, experienced actor and director. A passionate gamer himself, Murat Serezli not only brought to life the first Turkish commander in the game with his appearance, but also performed the first Turkish voice-overs of the game.
Inspired by Murat Serezli’s appearance, various drawing works were carried out for the first Turkish commander. After the image of the commander was decided as a result of the meticulous joint work of our team, the World of Warships team and Murat Serezli, we took action for the voiceovers. With the translation of the lines in the game into Turkish, we came together to take voice recordings in the studio.
As a result of long and detailed work, the first Turkish commander, Turkish voiceovers and the Turkish ship “Muavenet” were ready to join the game. We also took on the task of sharing this exciting news with the players.
